I have done it. Yes I have. Way back I was telling you about how important time is and it should be spend wisely plus that there is no such thing as making up for lost times because time only goes forward. Well I have done it people. I have successfully gone back in time. Making it a December to remember is becoming a huge success with each day that passes. In my promise to myself to make it a December to remember I never thought I’d also be pulling off the impossible. It really is the most magical time of the year.
I managed to pull off the impossible because of traditions started years before I was even born. Realize that this is one that I just happily adapted too. I happily adapted to the tradition of watching holiday movies around Christmas time. That and eating a weeks worth of food in two days, but that is a different case. The case here is my love for movies and me always on the hunt for something extraordinary to do let me to be able to find something that catapulted me back in time and allowed me to pull off the impossible.
I have seen a movie in the cinema that has a release date of November 1990, that is well before I was born!! Four years to be exact! Yet, my young self (totally owning that at the moment) has seen it in the cinema. A cinema near me has something called ‘’Throwback Mondays’’, which is when they display movie classics. Think of Titanic, E.T. and Die Hard. Obviously my movie wasn’t one of those, my movie was a Christmas classic. I have watched it many times before, as I’m sure you have too.
Still, being able to watch a movie in the cinema that I grew up with gives it a completely different feel. I watched the movie with a complete new set of eyes as if I hadn’t seen it before. And that is partly true, I had never seen it in the cinema. Those special effects and the sounds made a way more impressive impact in the cinema then at home under the blankies. Even though that has never been a bad situation either. Watching that movie in such a different setting was really an experience. I should actually tell you which movie it is, the pictures above are already clues.
I have gone back in time and watched ‘’Home Alone’’ in the cinema, mind you it has now been 26 years (it was in cinemas until 1991) since it was last in the cinema. That is older than I currently am! It is so cool to have watched it in the cinema. I truly believe it is one of those rare things, it feels really special to have watched it in the cinema. I just can’t get over it. It’s something I could do now or wait and then profusely hope I would get another chance next year. Glad I took my chance when it was in front of me.
If you have the chance to watch a movie classic in the cinema, take it! The movie is completely different on the big screen. Perhaps pulling off the impossible can become the/a new tradition?
