‘’Life begins at the end of your comfort zone’’
– Neale Donald Walsch
A quote many of you has read. As you know I want my life to be a great big adventure. Now in my own investigation on how to exactly achieve that I have stumbled upon many ways and theories. Most of them too extreme as in it might be my last adventure and some of them not adventurous enough. However in the midst of all the theory chaos I found one that seems interesting. A theory in which the word yes plays a major role, well the only role to be honest.
It is invented by four guys who as far as I know are living their life according to it. Their theory is called the YES theory. Simplicity at its finest, I know. It is not some scientific theory with data and research behind it. It is more a philosophy of life. They state that by saying yes to doing things outside of their comfort zone they will live a more adventurous life. Makes all the sense in the world.
This theory seems relatively easy to apply to one’s life. It is basically just doing things that you are uncomfortable with and so stretching your limits. So instead of saying no you say yes. I have to admit the simplicity is genius however the execution is a little harder for all obvious reasons. Thinking back at what Neale Donald Walsch said, makes worth a try. I mean what’s the worst that can happen?
Even Shonda Rhimes who is behind wonderful series such as ”Grey’s Anatomy”, ”Private Practice” and ”How To Get Away With Murder”. She even loved it so much she wrote a book about it, In the book she explains how this little seemingly insignificant word transformed her My Story Of I. Mind you I’m not saying you could be the next Shonda Rhimes I am just saying that maybe with a few more yes’ your My Story Of I can change impeccably. I have said it once and I’ll say it again there’s power in words, especially when those commit you to action.
A theory that could become your life’s philosophy.
