Disney Songs Dance Party Nostalgia

Sometimes a girl needs nostalgia to make herself feel good again. I don’t know about you guys/girls but Disney does it every time for me. Seriously, mention the word Disney and watch my eyes start twinkling. Nope, haven’t been to the park (I do wish it was true!). I have been getting my exercise and my ‘’Everything will be fine – mood’’ all in one sit. Thanks Disney! How? I hear you ask. By going back to something I used to do to the Disney songs. Confession; Yes I still know them by heart. Guess my memory got a work out too.. Win-win-win is all I see.

Dancing to Disney Songs for a treat yourself with My Story Of I

First of all it was not a real work out as in going to the gym and lifting things that weigh more than I do in total. It was a nostalgic workout to the Disney songs. I danced. Hard. Like a child and had the best of times. We grow up and we are always supposed to do grown up things, unless there is an actual child involved, but sometimes that’s exhausting. Going uphill all the time is exhausting. We need a reminder that there is a happy ending and who knows happy endings better than Disney? Yes, that’s right I treated myself to an afternoon of Disney. I needed to have some ‘’think-of-nothing’’ time.

So, here is what I did. Get yourself a hairbrush or water bottle, basically anything that can function as a mic. Unless you have a real mic then may I suggest you use that one? I don’t have the CD’s anymore, but there is a little thing called YouTube. I YouTubed (can I use it as a verb🤔??) my favorite Disney songs, turned the volume* all the way up and danced. Hard. Like a child. You know how. Uncoordinated just letting the music take me away. Jumping on everything that could hold my weight (The holding your weight part is really really really important).

Lots of the Disney songs are about doing it, making it happen and believing. All things we as adults are actually facing. Finals, work, payments etc. I could keep going but you get the drill. We’re making the life of our dreams happen. After a while you’ll get so infused with the power of the songs that you believe you yourself can save your kingdom. I know I did! After my afternoon, was supposed to be an hour but hey I love Disney🤷🏽‍♀️, I was super productive and finished my to-do list. Yeey me! Safe to say I’ll be doing this more often. No shame.

Inspiration can come from everywhere you just need to find what works for you.

Love,

DCPR.

Ps. This is also adaptable as a cure for the Monday blues, which you can see here.

*After your dance session I assume you still want to have a place to live, so mind your neighbors with the volume!
