I have been running My Story Of I for a little over two years now and have not really revealed that much about myself. Better yet, to this day there is only 1 clear picture of myself on My Story Of I. For the relaunch, along with explaining where My Story Of I is going, I thought I’d introduce myself properly. No, no photo but some information that I thought might be fun to share about myself. I mean I am asking you guys & girls all sort of questions all the time it is only fair to turn the tables, this one time haha. Let’s go!
First let me walk you through the basics. I’m 25 years young and most definitely a female. I don’t know why but lately I have gotten the question whether I was a man. Nope, I am, always have been and pretty sure I always will be a woman. I am the only one doing the admin on My Story Of I, with some occasional help from a tech friend (basically when I mess it up he fixes it). My star sign is Gemini and am by nature very shy. Here are 10 questions I thought the answers would be nice to know. All filled with personal info about me..
1. Why are there no pictures of me on My Story Of I?
My Story Of I is not nor will ever be completely about me. My Story Of I is one part me taking you along my own personal roller coaster which is my life and the other part is helping everyone improve their life story just like I have. I take you guys with me through my wonderlogues to show that I too don’t have everything figured out perfectly. I am human, I am a woman and by all means not perfect. With my wonderlogues I want to show that it is okay to go through a range of emotions and not have it together all the time. Life is and will always be a learning process. They say to lead by example so that’s what I do, through writing not with showing what I look like. This sums up the other part of My Story Of I. Writing about all the ways I learned to improve my story in order for you to be able to apply it to your life.
2. What do you do day-to-day?
I’m currently doing my masters in Psychology and will continue to study to become a Narrative Therapist. I obviously write for My Story of I and I’m also writing a book. Currently there are two drafts about completely different topics, one novel and one about my visions on life. Apart from doing those things you can find me reading (Favorite book : The Catcher in the Rye), wandering or having a dance party. Ever since changing my life it has become way more chill and slow-paced exactly the way I always wanted it. Enjoying each moment as it comes to the max.
3. Why do you sign with ‘’DCPR.’’ and not with your name?
I actually do sign with my name. Well.. a version of it at least. I really like being anonymous, and have zero desire to be famous and a 100% desire to be helpful and for that my name spelled out is not necessary. I sign with love because a part of me still feels like I’m writing letters to myself and everyone who reads My Story Of I.
4. Where are you from?
I am from Curacao. A little island in the Caribbean above Venezuela. I don’t live there at the moment. I live in Europe. In North Europe to be a little more exact. In one of the posts you can find out which country it is. Let me just say most people think that it is a country while it is actually a city, a very important one for Europe.
5. Introvert or Extrovert?
Introvert to the maximum. Through writing My Story Of I, I’ve become a little more extroverted but my nature is very much introverted. Just to be clear even social media can be too much stimulation for me.
6. Why did you start My Story Of I?
I started My Story Of I because I realized that the story I wanted for my own life was being postponed till after graduation, till I’m 25, till… someday. This realization came through me getting sick and my doctor telling me the scariest thing anyone has ever said to me to this day. I always wanted to write and I knew I had to and wanted to change my life. Looking around me there were lots of people living their life exactly like I used to. Sad, partially unhappy, beating myself up for little mistakes, talking negatively to myself and just waiting for the right moment to do everything I always wanted. I figured that by sharing my story I could hopefully help end that way of living and help everyone who reads My Story Of I improve their own life story.
[Sidenote: I briefly started a blog when I was 19 but cancelled it because I accidentally racked up a bill for 300 euros on my mother’s credit card to pay for it. I accidentally paid for 3 years in advance.. Oops! Obviously got scared and cancelled it, before my mother found out not unimportant to mention. Immediately getting a 3 year contract does say something about my commitment to it, right?! At Least that’s the story I’m going with]
7. What does the My Story Of I logo stand for?
The logo means ‘’When you follow your heart you’ll flourish’’. My heart led me to Milan, Italy. I had been wanting to go Milan since I was a little girl addicted to fashion shows. Milan was always being shown in the background. When I finally stood in front of Duomo I asked myself one question; ‘’What took you so long?’’. It was then and there that I knew following my heart, even though I’m scared, is worth it. I truly believe that your heart knows the path you are supposed to be on. We’re so busy following logic that we miss the fluctuations in our heartbeat, but those fluctuations are vital for your prolonged happiness.
8. Biggest Motivation?
Knowing that in a blink of an eye my life can be completely different without me having any say in it. Therefore I work hard to implement the changes I would like to see so I can gain and maintain the lifestyle I want. In other words, time flies and I want to have experienced it all before my party is over.
9. What direction is My Story Of I going in?
My Story Of I is going in the direction of being the place you can come to get tips on how to improve and make your story your own. I learned through changing my own story that the best changes have been beginning to develop through personal development, my travels and making all the changes into a lifestyle and not just ”something I do too”. Loving yourself and celebrating your life is a lifestyle, not just something you do on occasions. In order to help spread the word I have started an Instagram and Pinterest account. On these accounts you can find behind the scenes looks (or in other words peek into my personal life), photos/quotes that don’t make it on My Story Of I.com and more motivation to love yourself and celebrate your life. Basically My Story Of I.com in pictures.

DCPR.
